Love God, Love One Another: "Your Love Is What I Crave" by Rita Ring, May 12, 1994

Your Love Is What I Crave

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 12, 1994

R. I sought and I searched. I tried to find relief from the pain. I loved through my kids and wanted their love back. I tried to be loved by someone, and no one was ever there. Oh, Lord, in desperation I came to You and cried at Your feet. You sat so patiently with me. You loved me each time I came and I fo

und peace, peace and love that no one else had!

When I left You, I cried because no one gave to me as You did. Now, Lord, I know no one can give me what I crave, my soul craves You! I long for Your love. You are so gentle, so loving, so kind, so full and always there, Lord, no matter how I am upset, happy, whatever. You love me just the same. Who am I to know this love!

Jesus: Love for Me, My child. This is how you love Me: what you do to the least of your brothers you do to Me. Walk in My ways. When they persecute you and holler at you, love them, love them, love them. You are learning about love, child. Do not give way to anger and hate and guard your tongue always. This is the way you receive Me. Guard that spot, make it holy, do not cast stones at your brothers. Always love them.

R. My God, I seek You. My soul thirsts for You. Your love is finer than life.

[MaryVitamin] tranquility

Mary Vitamin for November 23rd

30 Days of Gratitude- Day 23

Quote:
"Her tranquility in the midst of that perturbing darkness which came down like deep night upon her soul and yet perturbed her not, was the effect of her intense humility."
Father Faber, The Foot of the Cross, (Tan Books)186.

Meditation:
St. Claude de La Colombiere
"You must overcome everything by humility and simplicity after having closely examined the thing, it seems to me that all wisdom is enclosed in these two virtues. Once you have entered into the true practice of them, you are no longer subject to inconstancy but, you enjoy such peace and tranquility nothing can disturb you."
The Spiritual Direction of Saint Claude de la Colombiere, (Ignatius Press) 81.
Resolution:
I will let Our Lady lead me through the dark times as though She is leading me through the streets of Jerusalem looking for Jesus. I will pray for her tranquility during the joyful mysteries of the Rosary. If I can imitate her peace of soul, I will know that I am practicing humility. I will not be leaning on myself but abandoned to the Will of God.

Marian Vow:
"The characteristic elements of M.I.M. spirituality are:
Quintessentially Marian ('marianita'), because rooted in total consecration to and total possession by the Immaculate to be her 'docile instrument', and still more to be her 'property and possession'" (SK 1160).”
Marian Seraphic Pathways, Statues Article 6

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.

Readers may recall some of my previous columns that featured quotes from, and writings of, Father James Farfaglia — formerly with the Legionaries of Christ and currently a priest of the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is also the spiritual advisor to Hope House, a home for unwed mothers, and was recently appointed to the board of directors of Human Life International.

Father James has authored and published a book titled Man to Man: A Real Priest Speaks to Real Men about Marriage, Sexuality and Family Life. All proceeds from the book's sales will go toward the founding of a Catholic elementary school in the diocese. Click here to see Father's official Web site for Man to Man.

The following is the book's Introduction in its entirety. Thanks to Father James for allowing me to reprint it.

Bumper Sticker--Psalm 109:8

This is good and it's in the Bible!  We do need to pray for our leaders and now I know how to pray!

 .
Traffic was moving slowly, and a car in front of us had an Obama bumper sticker on it.  It read:  "Pray for Obama.  Psalm 109:8

Mike's Bible was lying on the dash board.  He got it, opened it up to the scripture, and read it.  He started laughing and laughing.  Then he read it to me.  I couldn't believe what it said.  I had a good laugh, too..

4,000 Anglican priests to join Catholics

Conan Businge

OVER 4,000 Anglican priests all over the world, including married ones, are expected to join the Catholic Church, Bishop Matthias Ssekamanya announced on Friday.

Ssekamanya, who doubles as the chancellor of Uganda Martyrs University, said this does not mean that the Catholic Church is removing the requirement for priests to remain unmarried.

“We are not becoming soft on celibacy for Catholic priests. We shall also not tolerate homosexuals and polygamous marriages in the Catholic Church,” he added.

[MaryVitamin] extra strength vitamin

Mary Vitamin for November   (Extra Strength)

Topic: Our Lady's ability to make the gift of Herself in the Presentation

Quote:
The Immaculate Conception

Image by Lawrence OP via Flickr

St. John Eudes
"The fourth privilege of Mary in her Immaculate Conception, according to St. Bernardine of Siena and several other holy Doctors, is that she was endowed with the use of reason actually from the first moment of her Conception."
The Wondrous Childhood of the Most Holy Mother of God, (PCP:1998), 74.

Meditation:
It is believed that Our Lady was presented in the Temple at the age of three (based upon the ancient text of the gospel of St. James). Since St. John the Baptist is accorded the privilege of recognizing the presence of Our Lord while even in the womb of St. Elizabeth, theologians also accord Our Lady the use of her reason while in the womb. St John Eudes explains further by saying, 'If it be asked after what manner the use of reason was accorded to the holy Virgin from the first moment of her life, we may say that it was either by God's so elevating her understanding, as to render it capable of acting independently of the senses or bodily organs, or, that He so powerfully fortified these senses and bodily organs, as to make them cooperate in the functions of the understanding.

This is an example of Marian devotion which does not only detract from true worship of the Lord but actually lays a solid foundation for His worship. Marian devotion opens the heart and mind to ponder things from the viewpoint of God and not from the limited understanding of humanity.

How important is the Incarnation? How importantly does God view His humility and His sacrifice to forego the pain-free existence of heaven in order to take on human flesh to suffer? In His mind this must be a great event. Wouldn’t He make special provisions that the vessel through whom He chose to carry out this mission would know and appreciate the greatness of His sacrifice and the

significance of her role?

With the use of reason from the time of her Immaculate Conception, her self-offering at the age of three (the Presentation of Our Lady) takes on new meaning and indicates a greater gift of self.

Resolution:
Today, in the Angelus, I will ask to have the heart and mind of Mary so that I may appreciate the sacrifice and humility of the Lord.

Marian Vow:
Father Gabriel Pellettieri, FI
"From the various episodes in the Gospel we can gather that Our Lady had received a fairly thorough education, and that she, by means of the daily public prayers, had become accustomed to that life of constant union with God."
I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.

Love God, Love One Another: "Faith Is the Answer" by Rita Ring, May 12, 1994

Faith Is the Answer

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 12, 1994 6:00a.m.

My precious child, did I not say you would be persecuted by those closest to you? Dear one, I am ever by your side. If the earth is shaken and the stars do not give their light, I will be by your side.

It is in the silence that you feel My presence. I am truly present to you now in this struggle. Blessed are they who have not seen and have believed. You must teach others to know Me in their hearts. My answers I give to you in the silence. My presence can be felt in the silence. I am

truly here, dear one.

Faith is the answer. Faith will see you through. I do not come and ring bells and tell you what you need to know. There is a oneness in your heart. Your answers are found within. Teach all how to communicate with Me. I am truly there. I am talking to you and you did as I told you to do. Have peace, little one. All that matters is the life hereafter. Signs and symbols will not give you faith. You must come and be with Me. Spend time alone with Me. I wait for you in the tabernacle.

My beloved one, let go and be at peace. Though the earth be shaken, it is your faith within that will sustain you. I call you to holiness. I call you to surrender. I call you to a life of sainthood. There is peace in distress if you are fixed in Me. No weeds can live in a well cared for garden. Weed out any flaws in your lives, My children. I ponder your hearts. There is not one thing hidden from My eyes. Purity of heart in all things. Unless you achieve this purity, you shall not have union with Me as I desire

R. Create in me, oh, Lord, a clean heart, that I may more worthily serve You and worship You as the true God of all ages. Any offense is a big offense to unity with You. Oh, Lord, that I could see as You see my soul. I long for You with all my heart. My heart thirsts for Your love. You are my God, my all. From You flow the waters of everlasting life. Alleluia.
