BATANGAS CITY — Lipa ArchbishopRamon Arguelles confirmed that he had lifted the 1951 ban on the public veneration of Our Lady, Mediatrix of All Grace.

In a phone interview Tuesday night, Arguelles said he lifted the ban on Nov. 12 as “there was nothing wrong in praising apparitions” as he was well-aware of “the love of the people for the Blessed Mother.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on the latest war on Christmas:

HOLIDAY GIFTS BANNED IN SCHOOL GIFT SHOP

Merry Christmas! With Love.

The

Byam
Elementary School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts recently asked parents to donate holiday gifts to its holiday gift shop; the shopping days are December 1-4. Shopping guidelines informed that “Seasonal items such as snowmen, mittens, snowflakes are a big hit.” But it also had a list of “Items NOT Permitted.” The school was very specific about which items it considers taboo: “No Christmas, Chanukah or religious items,” and “No Santa, candy canes or stockings.” How snowmen made the cut but stockings did not was not explained.

The school, of course, is observing Christmas by closing, yet it is not allowing Christmas gifts to be sold in its holiday gift shop, thus making

it inexplicable why gifts celebrating the holiday being celebrated are banned.

Some may see this as simply absurd. We don’t. We see it as pernicious: in the name of diversity and inclusion, the multicultural tyrants get to do what they have always wanted to do—censor Christmas. Parents upset by this authoritarian decision are meeting soon to overturn the ban. Give them support and let Dr. Jane Gilmore, the school’s principal, know how you feel.

'The Mysterious Islands' -- a New Film Shot on the Galapagos Islands Which Challenges Darwin

More than 2,500 to Attend Tampa Premiere of 'The Mysterious Islands' -- a New Film Shot on the Galapagos Islands Which Challenges Darwin

TAMPA,

Nov. 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- More than 2,500 people have reserved tickets to attend tonight's Tampa premiere of The Mysterious Islands, a new film that debunks the conclusions Charles Darwin reached during his storied trip to the Galapagos Islands during the voyage of the HMS Beagle. Shot and directed by the award-winning Jon and Andy Erwin of Erwin Brothers Motion Pictures, the 100-minute documentary is being featured in special screenings around the country in anticipation of the November 24 anniversary date of the publication of Darwin's influential book, On the Origin of Species. The film will be showing tonight on five screens at Channelside I-Max Theater in Tampa, Florida. More than 800 attended last night's premiere in Durham, North Carolina, and interest in the film continues to build.

"The Galapagos Islands are a showcase of God's creation, not a laboratory for evolution, as Darwin claimed," noted Doug Phillips, executive producer of The Mysterious Islands. "Our film captures the wonder of the intriguing flora and fauna of the Galapagos, even as it shows where Darwin went wrong in his observations. And we are excited to be able to show this contrast to audiences around the country through our new film."

The Mysterious Islands takes viewers deep beneath the ocean waves among hundreds of white-tip sharks, over lava fields covered with salt-spitting marine iguanas, and to the unusual habitat of blue-footed boobies and flightless cormorants. Featuring the only team of Creationists and Christian scientists to shoot a documentary on the Galapagos during 2009 -- Darwin's anniversary year -- The Mysterious Islands brings a fresh perspective on Charles Darwin and his Theory and presents sweeping cinematography of one of the most remote, desolate, and fascinating island chains in the world.

"The subtitle of Darwin's landmark book is often overlooked: "the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life,'" Phillips observed. "Darwin's ideas should not be celebrated on the anniversary of his book, for they have contributed to the dehumanization and murder of millions through the rise of Nazism, the proliferation of racism, Marxism, widespread abortion, and the horrors of eugenics."

"Yet we do have cause to rejoice as we consider the greatness of God's created world," remarked Phillips. "And the footage we captured as we walked where Darwin walked on the Galapagos Islands offers an amazing testimony of this."

The Mysterious Islands, a cinematically beautiful adventure film, was shot earlier this year and examines the same unusual creatures Darwin saw while on the Galapagos Islands and shows where he erred. Told through the eyes of 16-year-old Joshua Phillips, the documentary presents a remarkable quest to "Darwin's Eden" with Joshua, his father, and a team of scientists and investigators, including Dr. John Morris, president of the Institute for Creation Research.

Love God, Love One Another: "Suffer for Me" by Rita Ring, May 10, 1994

Suffer for Me

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 10, 1994

Do not put the cross down. Do not complain. Sainthood is carrying the cross with a cheerful face. Your brothers will not comfort you and they will not give you your answers. Turn to Me, My beloved ones, in the silence. I am forever present. I know the workings of your hearts. I sanctify your souls. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I ponder your ways with such love.

When you suffer, do not think you are alone. I am closest when you suffer. Turn to Me. I walk with you. You carry My cross with Me. Oh, how My Heart aches in your ailing brothers. They do not even know their ways. They curse one another and hate. They have lost all sense of God. Where will they see his love if you turn your back to Me? I need you to love. It is persecution to live in this world. Your brothers are in darkness. You are the light that shines in their dark souls. You can't put your cross down. You can't complain and feel downhearted. Satan is so glad when you are bowed down. You must trust in Me and My ways at every moment. Everything you experience I allow. Do not fight it. If Satan is bothering you, cast him out, but accept the crosses I send you.

Satan, You're Fired!

Image by Old Shoe Woman via Flickr

Meditate on My Passion. I accepted My suffering. I was silent. I did not argue and try to prove Myself right. Peace is found in knowing God will take care of you. You may be suffering but He is allowing it. Accept it with great joy. Suffering is partaking in My life. My life was given for you. The way to Me is the way of the cross. Don't throw these powerful graces back in My face. Practice silence. Do not complain to your brothers. Come and complain to Me. If others notice your silence, pray to say only what is loving and what will draw them to God.

Your job, 24 hours a day, is to love and lead others to heaven. Nothing else matters. If you stop and judge yourself by the world's standards, you will be confused. Keep your eyes on Me.

Do not look at your brother and judge your actions by his. Judge your actions by My actions. I am the Master. I show you the way. I lead you down the path to everlasting life.

Let go, sweet one. I will hold you up when you are down. My suffering is a gift I give you. Don't complain. Say thank you. You will be strengthened and grow in your love of Me if you accept all I send you in peace.

The Candle

I know exactly what you need. I ask you to suffer. I ask you not to ask why or give it back. I ask you to accept it and love it and love your brothers. This is My way. This is the only way. Where do you run from the Lord? If you go to the heavens, I am there. Wherever you go, I am there. You cannot run

from Me.

You are the light that shines in the dark night. You are a candle set on a hill that shines to those who pass by. Let My light shine from you.

"The true daughter of the Institute has no cross to carry, because the Mother takes care to carry the burdens of all."

Theodore Maynard, Too Small A World, (Bruce Publishing: 1945) 66.

Meditation:

"In the rules [Mother Cabrini] wrote: 'When they are not able, on account of illness, to attend to all the common practices, the religious should frequently raise their hearts to God, keeping united with Him and offering Him their sufferings without complaint.'"

Complaining allows the enemy of the spiritual life a foot hold.

"The moment we cease forming acts of virtue, our inclinations, naturally prone to ease and pleasures of the senses, raise in us disordered appetites which overthrow or at least weaken our virtuous habits. This is to say nothing of the loss, through such neglect, of countless graces which we might have merited by a constant application to our spiritual advancement."

Dom Lorenzo Scupoli, The Spiritual Combat (Tan Books:1990), 112.

Resolution:

Today I will take the advice of Mother Cabrini and turn to the Mother of Heaven who takes care of my burdens. One time today when tempted to complain, I will turn in prayer to Our Lady who is carrying my burden with me. I will not complain.

Marian Vow:

St. Maximilian Kolbe

"[W]e need a great deal of serenity in our approach, much peace and fullest confidence so that we do not needlessly fret!"

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.

Love God, Love One Another: "Rosary Meditations" by Rita Ring, May 10, 1994

ROSARY MEDITATIONS
The Sorrowful Mysteries

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 10, 1994

Note: These letters were received on April 25, 1994, at Medjugorje, from Our Lady.

Agony in the Garden of Gethsemani, :en:paintin...

Image via Wikipedia

1. The Agony in the Garden.

Jesus: I knew full well every blow, every wound, the crowning, the crucifixion. I saw My mother's suffering. I knew all that would happen. I sweat blood. I suffered so much mental anguish for you, beloved one, for you. I said yes to all I knew would follow, yes to you, knowing how you one day would love Me, too. Oh, how I love you. Will you say yes to the suffering I send to you? Will you say yes to loving My beloved ones? Say yes to Me today. I loved you so.

2. The Scourging at the Pillar.

Flagelation of Christ, by Aleijadinho.

Image via Wikipedia

Mary: I am the Immaculate Heart. I love you with my tender Heart. I heard the blows they gave my Son. I could scarcely look up. I heard the blows, the awful blows. My Son stood in silence while they beat Him.

Jesus: All the whipping, all the brutality! The blows covered My entire body. I bled profusely. I stood in My own blood. These were My beloved ones who beat Me. They tore My flesh until it hung from My body and they laughed at their handiwork.

Do your brothers persecute you and say mean things to you? Do as I did. Respond with love. Anyone who is hating you is suffering from connectedness to Me. Pray for their conversion. Live to help them get to heaven.

3. Crowning with Thorns

Jesus: Think of someone you love very deeply yelling awful accusations at you. How it wounds your heart, My child. I sat there while they crowned Me with thorns and they hollered awful accusations at Me. They were My beloved ones, yet they stood there spitting at Me and hollering awful things at Me. Those whom I dearly loved, and they mocked Me and insulted Me and hurled their ugly hatred and lies at Me. I accepted all they did with a bleeding Heart and forgave them and loved them still.

Oh, you do not know suffering. Suffer for Me and lessen My load. This world is wounding My aching Heart. People are indifferent and hateful. They mistreat one another and are proud of their actions. Pray for your beloved persecutors. Don't hate them. It is as with those who tore My flesh and mocked Me. They were so engulfed in darkness! They did not know what they were doing.

All that matters is how you love Me and one another. Love those who hate you. My way is a hard way. When they hurt you and holler every ill thing at you, look to heaven and praise the Lord for the trial. It is in suffering that you are drawn closer to My precious Heart. I shed My blood for you. I suffered for you. Will you not suffer when I ask you to?

4. Carrying of the Cross

Jesus Meets His Mother

Mary: I could scarcely stand to walk the way with Him. I was so sick at what they had done but I wanted to be with my Son. I walked by the grace of God.

Jesus: My suffering was intensified by the sorrow and suffering of My mother. My eyes met hers and I saw her red, teary face. All they did to Me, but to watch My beloved mother suffer! She heard the cross as it thumped up the hill. The sounds were so loud and, at the sight, she had to look away.

Stand by Me and walk this road to Calvary. Listen and see My beaten body. Hear the jeers of the crowd. Hear the thumping of the cross. Listen when it falls hard on Me and I can scarcely go any more. Walk with Me and be there, then think of the little crosses I ask you to carry. Do not put them down. Accept them for Me. It is in your crosses that you are drawn closer to Me. I endured all this suffering for deep and ardent love of you and I would do it today for you alone.

5. The Crucifixion

:sv:Simon Vouet -

Image via Wikipedia

Mary: They hung Him on the cross. I was so weak I could barely stand. I was held up by John. I watched my Son in such agony. Oh, my beloved Son! What had He done to deserve such suffering? He loved you to His death. He was crucified for love.

Jesus: How do I tell you that I died for you? Do you even know I would do it today, just for you? They nailed My beautiful hands and feet to the cross. Big, gigantic nails they pounded into My precious hands. Such hard hearts! They pounded the nails through My feet. Blood spurted out and they continued. Such hardness of hearts. Look at your hands, My child. Would you allow someone to nail them to a cross? Would you withstand this torture for love? This is My love for you. It is not a little lip service love. It is the love that made Me lay down My life for you.

Surrender. I call you to surrender. Open your arms as I did when I died on the cross. Let all your worldly possessions drop around you and you will experience the joy of being free, united only to Me, of letting go and knowing that I, God, tend to your every need. To My death on the cross I loved you and I love you this way this very day. Let go and give it all to Me. I will care for you far better than you could for yourself. I am God and I love you more than you can love yourself.

R. Jesus is dead, hanging on the cross, arms outstretched. His feet are not even on the ground. He is hanging by nails on a piece of wood. Wha

Deposition, now in Besancon

t do we hold on to? He wants us in midair in total surrender.

Jesus: Oh, little ones, how you squander your possessions. How you hold on to people, how you won't let go! See Me in total surrender. I gave My very life for you. What do you hold on to, My little ones? Little bits and pieces you give to Me and you hold tightly to your lives. All will go up in smoke and only the things of God will remain. Not one pair of shoes do you take with you, only your love given to God and to others.
