Love God, Love One Another: "Doing His Will" by Rita Ring, May 7, 1994

Doing His Will

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 7, 1994

R. Doing His Will is doing His Will. He is another person. His Will is not necessarily my will, but, if I do His Will, it is how my life is in harmony with God and works out. Doing His Will causes me little problems. In the end, I have peace of mind. Maybe a struggle, maybe suffering, maybe persecution, but I have peace in that

 I am pleasing God.

I receive my answers in the inner promptings of my heart. Maybe I hear or see, but usually He communicates, sight unseen, inside. So why, when I am given a big command that I don't want to do, why follow it without sight, without exterior words? I follow a command, which may be so difficult, from inside, sight unseen. I do this command. This is faith, this is intimacy with Jesus, to know He truly is present. He truly communicates and I will not be at rest until I do His Will! Doing His Will is hard. It is His Will. It is not our will. It takes faith and trust in our hearts and what we are being told there. If the whole world goes one way, we must do His Will.

I love You so, my Lord. I love You for You. I can do Your Will!

[MaryVitamin] first virtue

Mary Vitamin for November 10th

Topic: The First Virtue

Quote:
St. John Eudes
"[The Blessed Virgin Mary] was so humble that she regarded and treated herself as the least of creatures. She told St. Mechtilde that the first virtue she had practiced was humility."

Meditation:
Some notes made by St. Maximilian Kolbe while on retreat regarding humility:
"If you consider another superior to yourself then:
a) You will converse with him with more calm.
b) You will never insult him in words, nor do anything to displease him; you will not suspect him.
c) It will be easy for you to accept a harsh or disrespectful word from him.

Willingly accept every opportunity for humbling yourself.
Don't be offended at
a) a harsh word
b) an imperious tone of voice,
Domenico di Bartolo, Madonna of Humility - Pin...

c) not being respected as much as you would like to be.

Humility is the foundation of the virtues."
Fr. Anselm W. Romb, OFM Conv. Ed.,  The Kolbe Reader, (Marytown Press), 4.

Resolution:
St. Maximilian gives many concrete examples of how to practice humility during the day in imitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Today, I will consider those around me as superior to myself in imitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Marian Vow:
St. Maximilian Kolbe
"Be recollected: whoever pours himself out on exterior things quickly loses the graces he has acquired. A full jewel box is always kept closed."
Fr. Anselm W. Romb, OFM Conv. Ed.,  The Kolbe Reader, (Marytown Press), 3.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.

Vatican Astronomer Says Church & Science Go Hand in Hand

NEWS REPORT: Crumbs! Bird and baguette trip up atom smasher

The Large Hadron Collider – the massive "Big Bang" machine on the Franco-Swiss border – hit a small snag last week after a bird dropped bread into the power supply.

"There was no shutdown for the machine," a spokeswoman from the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Cern) told swissinfo.ch on Monday. "The bread caused a very small short-circuit and that was it."

A passing bird last week dropped a baguette morsel into a portion of the machine's power system that sits above ground. That caused the collider's immensely complex cooling system to malfunction, warming a three-kilometre stretch of the 27-km-long machine from -271-degrees Celsius to -268 degrees.

"The bird escaped unharmed but lost its bread," Cern said. "The incident was similar in effect to a standard power cut, for which the machine protection systems are very well prepared."

Workers managed to fix the problem within a few hours. Operations were back to normal a few days later. There was no damage to the collider.

The planet's biggest machine is designed to recreate what happened when the universe was just one trillionth of a second old by smashing protons into each other at nearly the speed of light. To do it, the machine must be kept colder than outer space.

The Vatican astronomer was the keynote speaker at "Astrofeast," an annual fundraiser for Kopernik Observatory.

His lecture titled "The Heavens Proclaim" aimed to debunk myths about the church and science and he says that the two go hand in hand.

"Science is a fantastic way of getting to know Creation and to get to know the Creator. So I'm here to encourage people to look at the stars, look through a telescope, and to find out what's going on with astronomy," said Vatican Astronomer Brother Guy Cosolmango.

[MaryVitamin] acts of love

Mary Vitamin for November 9th
All Saints Convent, Chapel of St John, Cowley

Image by Martin Beek via Flickr

Topic: Acts of Love

Quote:
St. John Eudes
"[T]he heavenly Virgin was never idle, but remained constantly turned towards God, ever exercising her love for His divine majesty."
Saint John Eudes

Image by Niall McAuley via Flickr

The Admirable Heart (Loreto Publications: 2004), 225.

Meditation:
St. John Eudes
"She loved Him with her whole heart, her whole soul and all her strength, according to the full extent of the grace that was in her, so that grace was doubled in her soul, if not from moment to moment, at least from hour to hour, and perhaps more often. If Jesus bestows an eternal kingdom upon those who give a glass of water to the poor for love of Him, what gifts, what treasures, what graces did He constantly pour into Mary's pure heart, in which He did not encounter the least obstacle to the inexhaustible blessings which He ardently wished to communicate to her."
The Admirable Heart (Loreto Publications: 2004), 225-6.

Resolution:
Today, I will try to imitate the love of Our Lady towards Our Lord by recalling the presence of God during the day and making an act of love for God. (I will try to do this in the Angelus.)

It is not necessary to use a written prayer but if you would like to use a prayer for the Act of Love:

O Lord God, I love you above all things
and I love my neighbor for your sake
because you are the highest, infinite and perfect
good, worthy of all my love.
In this love I intend to live and die.
Amen.
Pentecost

This site also has the Acts of Faith and Hope.

Marian Vow:
St. Maximilian Kolbe
"It is said that the Holy Spirit dwells in the souls of the just. If this is so, there he must dwell in the most perfect manner possible in the soul of the Immaculata. Our Most Holy Mother is totally suffused in the divine. For this reason we call her the spouse of the Holy Spirit, even though we know that this name is only a distant shadow of the reality."
Fr. H.M. Manteau-Bonamy, O.P., Immaculate Conception and the Holy Spirit, (Franciscan Marytown Press: 1977), 52.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Love God, Love One Another: "Where You Walk I Walk with You" by Rita Ring, May 7, 1994

Where You Walk I Walk with You

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 7, 1994 4:00a.m.

I am Jesus, I am the Son of God. I come and I write to you this day for My beloved ones. Time is short. Every word I write must be heeded. The souls of your suffering brothers are at stake. Nothing matters on the face of this earth except to love God and love each other. I am the Omega, I am your all. Every moment that you live, live to draw souls to Me. Think, "How will this action lead this soul to God?"

Be so loving and pure. Nothing here matters except how you lived to love Me and one another. I am truly with you this day. In the silence you feel My presence. When you listen to the silence, feel Me with you, close and right by your side. Where you walk I walk with you. I hold your hand. I comfort you. I make all things work.

Prayer of Confidence to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Image by Loci Lenar via Flickr

Sit you still and pray. Do not fret or fume. My hand is ever present. There is nothing that happens that I do not allow. It is in your trials that you are taught My mighty lessons.

Do not talk about your brothers and make yourself right. Live only to spread My love. If I tend to the lilies of the field, do you think I do not tend to you? I tend to every detail of your life. You answer to Me and Me alone. You fear no part of your life ever! I am tending to you minute by minute.

Oh, sweet one, not one thing matters but that you choose to know, love and serve Me. Your job is to draw others to My love. Keep forever before your eyes your brother going to heaven. In your actions, lead him to eternal life. He needs you to love in adversity. You do not worry for a thing. I watch your comings and your goings. I am forever vigilant and with you. Oh, little one, I love you so.

Treasure the moments you spend with your brother. Do not waste moments accounting events that displease you. I will tend to your every need. Do not ever show your concern and worry to your brothers. A person fixed on God is not complaining. He is still loving his brothers and silently praying for others who need prayers.

Practice holding your tongue. Satan wants you to spread a dark cloud. Spread the love of God always. In adversity spread His light to those you are with. Do not give in to rehashing events. In all things trust in Me. Give your problems to Me and know I will handle them and then be about the job of loving all.

You are so favored to have such precious children. Guard your moments with them as gems given as a gift from Me!

It is hard to put your concerns aside and trust in Me. Trust is a staircase that leads to holiness. Trust in all things and continue to be My light shining on all.

This world needs to be constantly illuminated by you. Do not give in to sadness or thoughts of making yourself right. Turn it over to Me and know I will take care of it.

Do not talk about your brothers. Control your tongue as the doorway to holiness. Trust in Me. Do not give in to any speech that does not promote love. You be at peace always. I am right by your side. You are never alone. I do not leave you for one second. I love you, My little one. Trust and let go and fall into the arms of Jesus. Be wrapped in My arms. My light surrounds you and you are My beautiful, loved ones.

Oh, how I love you!

[MaryVitamin] renewing consecration

Mary Vitamin for November 6th

 Topic: Consecration to the Immaculate

 Quote:

Saint Germanus of Paris

St. Germanus of Constantinople

"No one can be filled with the thought of God except by her."

St. Louis de Montfort, True Devotion to Mary, (Tan Books: 1978), 105.

Meditation:

St. Louis de Montfort

"Be persuaded, then, that the more you look at Mary in your prayers, contemplations, actions and sufferings, if not with a distinct and definite view, at least with a general and imperceptible one, the more perfectly will you find Jesus Christ, who is always with Mary, great, powerful, active and incomprehensible 'more than in Heaven or in any other creature. Thus, so far from the divine Mary, all absorbed in God, being an obstacle to the perfect in attaining union with God, there has never been up to this time, and there never will be,  any creature who will aid us more efficaciously in this great work."

St. Louis de Montfort, True Devotion to Mary, (Tan Books: 1978), 105.

Resolution:

St. Louis de Montfort words are full of hope 'even if we turn to Our Lady in a general way we will find her Son. Today, I will renew my consecration to Our Lady throughout the day and believe that She will bring me closer to the Lord. I will continue in my Marian practices.

Marian Vow:

St. Maximilian Kolbe

"What significance do we give our consecration? Do we know how to live it day by day? Are we aware that belonging to the Immaculate has great importance for us and for others?"

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Love God, Love One Another: "Obey Me to the Letter" by Rita Ring, May 6, 1994

Obey Me to the Letter

God's Blue Book III Cover

May 6, 1994 4:00a.m.

My child, obey Me to the letter (the others will know they disobeyed Me). I am God. I am speaking to you. You have no hate or anger or anxiousness for any man.

I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I need you to do this work. You write as I dictate. You will not know what is My plan. I am God and I can change all things. I do not change a man's free will. I tell each one to obey. If he does not, then he will be held accountable.

You did as you were told. In no way does My letter conflict with My mother's messages. A decision was made to ignore My words. This displeases Me greatly! I want obedience. You did exactly as I told you and I continue to expect obedience from you. I will enkindle this. You do not fret or fume. Your job is to deliver a message.

rose and love letter

I am Jesus and I am giving you personal love letters for My beloved children. I do not hold one letter better than another. I am Jesus. I have spoken. I have been disobeyed.

You continue to do exactly as I tell you. If they laugh or give you a hard time, you continue to obey Me exactly as I tell you. I am God and I have spoken. My ways I make clear to you. I am offended by this decision. You show no ill will. I am God and I will tend to all else. You only obey Me. Write these messages and give them to Father S____. These are messages from the Son of God. They are to be heeded. If you do not obey Me, then you are choosing on your own to disobey. One message is not better than another. My message did not conflict with My mother's messages. It was a decision that this letter of Mine should not be put out. I stated specifically that I wanted it out.

A letter of explanation

My children are hurting and they need these messages. I write so tenderly of My love! These messages will save souls. My mother's purpose is to draw men's hearts to Me. I wanted My message given out at the farm. You must obey Me. You must continue to obey Me. Souls will suffer for not hearing the message. I want them to know of My love. You continue to do exactly as I command you to do. I ask, you can choose to obey or not obey.

I am talking here. I want to be obeyed. I want My letters to reach My beloved ones!

CHRISTMAS TREE RETURNS IN KENTUCKY

WASHINGTON - NOVEMBER 26: The 2007 White Hous...

Image by Getty Images via Daylife

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments as follows:

On November 3, we noted that the “War on Christmas” had begun. One piece of evidence that was offered was the decision to have a “Holiday Tree,” instead of a “Christmas Tree,” in Frankfort, Kentucky. But after getting pounded by outraged Christians, Gov. Steve Beshear has reversed himself: both he, and the state government, have now chosen to call the Christmas Tree the “Christmas Tree.”

Christians have every right to be insulted when agents of government refuse to acknowledge their holiday, and it matters not a whit if the stated purpose is inclusion. Indeed, the politics of inclusion is a malignant cultural cancer that needs to be wiped out, along with its parent ideology, multiculturalism.

Congratulations to Gov. Beshear can be extended by contacting his director of communications, Jill Midkiff: Jill.Midkiff@mail.state.ky.us

Ninth Circuit Orders A Full Court Review of Decision Upholding San Francisco’s Anti-Catholic Resolution

Friday, November 6, 2009

California - Golden Gate BridgeANN ARBOR, MI – The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit granted the Thomas More Law Center’s petition for en banc (full court) review of a three-judge panel opinion, which upheld a San Francisco City Board resolution virulently condemning the Catholic Church for its moral teachings on homosexuality.

The Thomas More Law Center, a national Christian legal advocacy group based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, promptly filed a petition for en banc review.  Click here to read Law Center petition.  In its order granting the petition, the Ninth Circuit vacated the prior ruling, stating, “The three-judge panel opinion shall not be cited as precedent by or to any court in the Ninth Circuit.”  Click here to read the order.  The case will now be reargued to the full court, which will consist of all judges eligible to hear the case (approximately 11 judges).

The anti-Catholic resolution, adopted March 21, 2006, was challenged by the Law Center on behalf of the Catholic League and two Catholic residents of San Francisco. The Board’s resolution refers to the Vatican as a “foreign country” meddling in the affairs of the City and proclaims the Church’s moral teaching and beliefs on homosexuality as “insulting to all San Franciscans, ” “hateful, ” “insulting and callous, ” “defamatory, ” “absolutely unacceptable, ”  “insensitive and ignoran.”  Click here to read the City’s resolution

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel for the Law Center, commented, “In total disregard for our Constitution, homosexual activists in positions of power in San Francisco abused their authority as government officials to attack the Catholic Church.  Our constitution plainly forbids government hostility toward religion, including the Catholic faith.  And we are fully committed to fighting homosexual activists who seek to promote their personal political agenda at the expense of our constitutional freedoms.”

The Law Center’s lawsuit claimed the City’s anti-Catholic resolution violated the First Amendment, which “forbids an official purpose to disapprove of a particular religion, religious beliefs, or of religion in general.”  The Board’s resolution went so far as to urge the Archbishop of San Francisco and Catholic Charities of San Francisco to defy Church directives.  Click here to read the Law Center’s complaint filed on behalf of the Catholic League against the City.

The unanimous decision by the three-judge panel did have an interesting concurrence from Judge Berzon.  Click here to read the three-judge opinion.  In Judge Berzon’s concurring opinion, she states in part, “All of that said, I do find the result troublesome, and find much to agree with in Judge Noonan’s eloquent dissent in American Family. . . In particular, I am acutely aware that ‘the Constitution assures religious believers that units of government will not take positions that amount to the establishment of a policy condemning their religious belief, ’ . . . and that resolutions such as the ones in American Family and the one in this case are near – if not at – the line that separates establishment of such a policy.”

Robert Muise, the Law Center attorney who is handling the case, stated, “This is a significant case on many fronts.  Should the full court ultimately render a decision in our favor, this case will establish much needed precedent for claims alleging government hostility toward religion.  If the full court allows this government attack on Catholics to stand, it will likely further embolden anti-Christian attacks by government.  However, the fact that a majority of judges vacated the unanimous ruling and agreed to rehear the case en banc is a very good sign.”

According to Catholic doctrine, allowing children to be adopted by homosexuals would actually mean doing violence to these children, in the sense that their condition of dependency would be used to place them in an environment that is not conducive to their full human development.  Such policies are gravely immoral and Catholic organizations must not place children for adoption in homosexual households.

The Law Center argued that the “anti-Catholic resolution sends a clear message to Plaintiffs and others who are faithful adherents to the Catholic faith that they are outsiders, not full members of the political community, and an accompanying message that those who oppose Catholic religious beliefs, particularly with regard to homosexual unions and adoptions by homosexual partners, are insiders, favored members of the political community.”
